Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has come to the defense of Mohammed Kudus following his uninspired performance in their 4-2 defeat at Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The Ghanaian international was not at his best leading the lines for the Dutch giants and was caught offside on too many occasions.
The 22 year old was the lowest rated Ajax player from the game with a 3.5 rating.
He was replaced by Brian Brobbey past the hour mark at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Schreuder shielded Kudus from criticism and drew some positives from his performance against the Italians.
“He also does a lot of good things for us, such as the way he hunts and thus keeps the opponent moving. I like seeing how he does those things.’
Kudus has three goals in four Champions League appearances this season.
