Ghanaian goalkeeper Shaibu Rafique Issah is being monitored by Dutch club AFC Ajax and Belgian side Zulte Waregem after impressing for Samartex FC and the Ghana U-20 national team, the Black Satellites.

The 19-year-old has attracted attention from both European clubs as they assess his potential ahead of a possible future transfer. His emergence has been driven by a series of encouraging performances at domestic and international level.

Rafique Issah has established himself as one of Ghana’s most promising young goalkeepers. He has gained recognition for his composure, sharp reflexes and authority inside the penalty area, qualities he has displayed despite his age.

His form in the Ghana Premier League with Samartex FC has helped take his profile beyond the domestic game. European scouts are now understood to be following his progress closely as he continues his development.

The goalkeeper was recently entrusted with the starting role for the Black Satellites at the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship in Cote d’Ivoire. Ghana faced some of the strongest youth sides in the sub-region during the tournament.

Although the Black Satellites were eliminated from the competition, Rafique Issah’s individual performances received positive reviews. Those displays have contributed to the growing interest in his services and increased attention from clubs outside Ghana.

AFC Ajax are among the teams believed to be keeping track of his development. The Dutch club have a strong reputation for nurturing young players and helping emerging talent progress towards top-level football.

Zulte Waregem are also monitoring the teenager as they consider adding promising young players to their squad. Both clubs are continuing to evaluate Rafique Issah’s potential before deciding whether to pursue a move in the future.

A transfer to Europe would represent another significant stage in the goalkeeper’s career. He has already made progress with Samartex FC and the Ghana U-20 national team, and interest from abroad represents a further indication of the impression he has made.

Rafique Issah’s continued development will now be watched closely as Ajax and Zulte Waregem assess his prospects. If his progress continues, he could become the latest Ghanaian goalkeeper to make a breakthrough move into European football.
