Agyemang-Badu casts doubt over Gyan’s readiness for 2022 World Cup

Former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has casted doubt over Asamoah Gyan’s readiness for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Gyan has not played for any club since parting ways with GPL side Legon Cities after the 2020/21 season.

But he is undergoing training exercises for the next eight weeks to force his way into the 26-man squad of Ghana coach Otto Addo

“When he is not hundred percent fit, he will not play. That is the fact about Asamoah Gyan,” said Agyemang-Badu.

“He knows his body more than anyone. By my side, I don’t think he can be ready for the World Cup.”

Gyan is the all-time record goal scorer for the Black Stars with 51 goals and Africa’s highest scorer at the World Cup with six.
