Daniel Afriyie Barnieh delivered a standout performance on Monday evening, netting twice to guide FC Aarau to a convincing 3-0 triumph over Stade Lausanne-Ouchy in the Swiss Challenge League.
The former Hearts of Oak forward broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with a well-taken effort before striking again midway through the second half to put Aarau firmly in control.
Valon Fazliu wrapped up the scoring in stoppage time to secure the win at the Stadion Brügglifeld.
The result stretched Aarau’s unbeaten run to five matches, with Barnieh proving central to their form.
The 23-year-old has now found the net four times in just five league outings since his arrival.
Born in Kumasi, Barnieh signed for Aarau on a free transfer following the termination of his contract with Swiss top-flight side FC Zurich earlier this year.
He has already represented Ghana’s Black Stars on three occasions, making his debut in a 2022 friendly against Japan in the Kirin Cup.
