Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has made a heartfelt plea to his teammates, promising to personally pay their outstanding winning bonuses if the Federal Government fails to do so before Saturday’s quarter-final clash against Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup, Morocco.
Ndidi emphasized his commitment to ensuring the bonus dispute doesn’t affect the team’s preparations, saying, “I don’t want these unpaid bonuses to affect our preparations. I told players and coaching staff that I’d personally make the payments if they don’t get it”.
The Federal Government, through the Office of the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has promised to fast-track the payments between Thursday and Friday.
Group stage funds have already been released and cleared regulatory approval, with future disbursements expected to be more streamlined.
