Senegal has advanced to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, edging Mali 1-0 in a tightly contested quarter-final match.

The Teranga Lions secured their win thanks to a first-half strike by Iliman Ndiaye, who capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Mali’s Djigui Diarra.

Despite Mali’s best efforts, Senegal’s defense held strong, even with Mali’s Yves Bissouma sent off in the first half.

The Lions of Teranga dominated possession but struggled to break through Mali’s resolute defense, with Sadio Mane and Pathe Ciss having chances to extend their lead.

Senegal’s victory marks their first semi-final appearance in the tournament. They now await their next opponent, having topped their group with impressive performances.
