Abdul Aziz Issah was the standout performer on Thursday as Ghana’s Black Satellites secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Central African Republic to top Group C and progress to the quarter-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt 2025.
The dynamic forward earned the Man of the Match award for his tireless effort, creativity, and attacking presence throughout the game at the Suez Canal Stadium.
Issah was a constant menace to the Central African Republic defense, playing a key role in maintaining Ghana’s dominance in possession and consistently driving his team forward.
Though it was Joseph Opoku who delivered the decisive moment with a composed 84th-minute strike, it was Issah’s relentless energy and vision that kept Ghana pushing for the breakthrough in a match filled with tension and missed opportunities.
Ghana finished the group stage unbeaten with seven points from three matches. In the other Group C fixture, Senegal’s 2-0 win over DR Congo ensured they joined the Black Satellites in the quarter-finals.
