Hearts of Oak board member Vincent Odotei Sowah has explained the club’s decision to sack coach Samuel Boadu.
The 36 year old manager was relieved of his duties just three weeks into the 2022/23 campaign.
Boadu and his back room staff including assistant coach Hama Obeng, goalkeepers coach Eric Amponsah were shown the exit door following the team’s slow start to the season.
Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Hot FM, the embattled club official revealed the rationale behind the club’s decision.
”Boadu came in and did very well but you see out of 15 away matches we won only one, our win on Sunday was the first win in about 10 matches and this were reasons why we were or comfortable at board level. Look it got to a time he was not able to give us hope for the future”
Boadu arrived at the club on a three-and-a-half year deal in March 2021 following the exit of Serbian Kosta Papic.
He guided Hearts to the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League title and also won back-to-back MTN FA Cups, Super Cup and the 2021 President’s Cup.
