CHAN qualifiers: Ghana boycotted training ahead of Nigeria clash

The Black Galaxies of Ghana boycotted training due to unpaid bonuses  ahead of the Nigeria clash in the first leg of the CHAN qualifier.

The team refused to train at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday to fast-track their entitlements.

it took the intervention of the management members and GFA officials to convince the team to partake Saturday morning training sessions.

Kickoffghana understands the playing-body are not prepared to honour the clash against the Super Eagles without getting a ‘positive’ response from authorities.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is yet to send a representative to visit the squad since camping began in May.

The Black Galaxies will host Nigeria in the first leg of CHAN qualifiers at the Cape Coast Stadium August 28, (16:00 GMT).

The local based national team will try to triumph over Nigeria after missing the three Editions of the CHAN tournament in Rwanda, Morocco, and Cameroon respectively.

The winner of the two legs encounter will secure qualification to Algeria 2023 which the competition is scheduled to kick off January 8 to February 5, 2023
