Black Galaxies captain, Gladson Awako heaped praise on his teammates after the side defeated their counterpart from Benin 3-0 on Sunday evening.
The Hearts of Oak attacker started for his team today when the side hosted Benin in the first leg of the qualifying tie in the qualifiers for the 2023 CHAN tournament.
Speaking in a post-match interview, a delighted Gladson Awako said although he knows the job is not done, players that featured in today’s game must be commended for their efforts.
“It’s a very good teamwork. We really worked hard for this game and you all can see we did well on the field. I know it’s not done yet so we will prepare and go for the second leg,” the former Great Olympics poster boy indicated.
Up next for the Black Galaxies, the team is set to prepare for the return leg of the Benin match.
After the tie, the winner will go on to take on Nigeria in the final qualifying round.
