Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are set to pocket a staggering fee from the transfer of Cameroonian forward Franck Mbella.
According to check, Italian Serie A side Udinese have advanced in contract talks to sign the lethal forward who notched 21 goals in 30 league games for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League champions.
Udinese will pay $1.5m as the transfer fee for Mbella.
However, the payment shall be made in three tranches. First, the Udine-based side will make a down payment of $500,000 to the Porcupine Warriors.
The Little Zebras will then spread the payment of the remaining $1m over a 24-month payment period.
According to sources, Kotoko’s hierarchy have consented to the financial agreement in the transfer and the deal is expected to materialise soon.
When he leaves the club, it would mean the Porcupine Warriors must quickly fish for his replacement ahead of their participation in the CAF Champions League in September.
