It’s one of the biggest games in the season to date over in Sweden as first travels to third place in the Allsvenskan as Hammarby IF welcome BK Hacken to the Bravida Arena.

Hacken do sit top of the table, but they have found their lead cut to just the goals difference margin following on from a close 2-2 draw with OIS on Monday.

On the other hand, the club previously went on a seven-game winning run in the league, as Varbergs BoIS, Varnamo, Kalmar FF, Malmo, Sirius, Sarpsborg, and Halmstad all fell to defeats at the hands of the league leaders.

Hacken have now only lost once in all competitions so far, and better yet, they have a game in hand over the second-placed AIK, meaning if they beat third-placed Hammarby here and then go on to win that game in hand, they could well create a very healthy gap between them and the rest of the Allsvenskan.

Hacken are also the top scorers in the league to this point with their 22 goals scored, and with them losing only once and winning seven of their 10 games so far, it does look as if they’re going to take some beating in the race for the Allsvenskan title.

On the other hand, Hammarby are boasting the best defensive record to this point in the league, as they have let in just eight goals so far from 10 games.

This has also resulted in a great record, with them winning six games, losing twice and drawing the other two.

Martí Cifuentes’ men did draw with J-Sodra last time out in the Swedish top flight, with them also beating Brage in the game just prior to this, which does mean they are unbeaten in June so far.

Varnamo handed them just their second defeat in regular time across all competitions just prior to this in a narrow 1-0 win.

Hammarby also lost in the Svenska Cupen final back in late May, as Malmo beat them on penalties after a very tight game final ended 0-0 in regular time and extra time. This does still mean, however, they’ve only lost twice in regular time this campaign.

There is not much separating them in the table and in the form guide right now. Hacken are the highest scorers, while Hammarby are the best defensive side in the division, and it should equal a close game.

Forebet predicts a win for Hacken, however, and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
