Contrite Eric Bekoe says he wrongly accused Kotoko coach David Duncan for insulting him

Hasaacas striker Eric Bekoe has apologized to David Duncan for wrongfully accusing the Asante Kotoko coach of insulting him during last Friday’s Ghana Premier League in Kumasi.

Bekoe in a post-match interview alleged he suffered a barrage of insults from Duncan without any provocation.

In the course of the game, cameras captured both David Duncan and Eric Bekoe exchanging gestures which the former Kotoko striker interpreted as insults.

But Duncan in the post-match interview revealed that he only saw Bekoe signalling to him by opening his fingers closer to his mouth connoting that he [Duncan] talks too much.

“I am very sorry as I never meant to say anything bad to tarnish the image of Duncan. He never insulted me but I took his gesture as an insult. Am really sorry,” Bekoe told GHANAsoccernet.com

“To Kotoko fans, they should please forgive me as I still have the club in my heart.

“If my actions and inactions have affected them in any negative manner that has put the image of the club into question, I’m extremely sorry.”

Sekondi Hasaacas lost that game by a lone goal courtesy a Kwame Boateng second half strike.
