Black Stars midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh was a dream player for Werder Bremen but the St. Pauli star player will not join the club this summer.

Bremen’s head of scouting and professional football Clemens Fritz is not happy about the outcome of the negotiations.

“We had good discussions and a really good exchange,” said 41-year-old Fritz on Sunday during a digital media round.

“I don’t think the decision was easy for him either. In the end he chose a different path, which is really a shame. But sometimes that’s how it is in football.”

“For us, the issue is ticked off because Kofi made a different decision. We would have liked to do that, but situations like this are completely normal in a transfer phase,”

Kyereh drew attention to himself in the second division last season with his goals and assists, causing Werder Bremen management to explore all options to sign the Ghanaian international.

In July 2020, Kyereh signed a three-year contract with FC St. Pauli. Kyereh’s first game in 2020 he scored two late goals to secure a point for St. Pauli.
