Berekum Chelsea coach Solomon Odwo says the fact that some teams went down to division one with 40 points shows that the 2014/2015 league season was hugely competitive.
Chelsea finished on 4th with 44 points in what was hugely a successful season giving it was Solomon Odwo’s first shot at managerial work at club level.
Despite Chelsea’s success issues of player suspension and points deduction with intense concerns on officiating raised eye brows on the competitive nature of the league.
But Odwo says the true competitive nature of the season is shown on the league table.
““15 years ago I spent about 4 months with Berekum Chelsea and left. My first season was last season and I must say that the Ghana Premier League is competitive looking at what happened last season when entering into the last day relegation was staring about 8 clubs right in their faces,” Odwo told Accra based Hot FM
“Even some clubs faced relegation despite securing 40 points by the close of the season. This is a sign that the league is competitive, so I don’t agree with those who say otherwise,”
