Berekum Chelsea defeat was disappointing but we were never discouraged – Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad has said they never gave up despite losing to Berekum Chelsea.

Kotoko suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium in the week 30 games.

The defeat caused an uproar leaving many to predict that their title chances will slip away.

However, the Porcupine Warriors won the Premier League title after securing a 1-1 draw against AshantiGold SC in an outstanding game at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

But Danlad who has been the first choice shot-stopper following the sale of Razak Abalora says they never gave up despite the defeat at home against the Blues.

“After the loss to Chelsea, we were never discouraged though we were disappointed,” he told Kumasi-based FOX FM.

“But we knew we could bounce back and injuries also affected us negatively but one thing is that all our players gave out their best when needed,” he added.

Asante Kotoko will be crowned winners of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season after the matchday 33 game against Elmina Sharks on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
