Ghana’s Black Starlets continued their preparations for the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 victory over Division One side Attram De Visser SC.
The friendly formed part of an intensive training schedule aimed at sharpening the squad ahead of the continental tournament.
After a goalless first half, the breakthrough came shortly after the restart when Michael Awuli won a penalty.
Captain Joseph Narbi converted from the spot to put the Starlets ahead.
Moments later, Mark Aboagye beat his marker and finished neatly to double the advantage.
Attram De Visser pulled one back late in the game through a penalty converted by Ntaniburon Wisdom.
Despite the late pressure, the Starlets held on to secure another positive result in their build-up campaign.
In a second friendly, the team’s second string lost 2-1 to Golden Kick FC.
Adomba Kofi and Kelvin Amaleba scored for Golden Kick, while Naff Sheriff netted the consolation for the Starlets.
The technical team used the match to assess more players as competition for places intensifies.
With steady performances in recent friendlies, the Starlets appear to be gaining confidence ahead of the U17 AFCON.
