We Are Not Invincible – Ibrahim Tanko Admits Medeama SC Can Be Beaten

Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has conceded that his side, like any other team in the Ghana Premier League, is capable of suffering defeat.

The former Ghana international made the admission after Medeama’s setback against Nations FC in their Week 21 fixture of the 2025/26 league season. The Yellow and Mauves travelled to Abrankese to face Nations at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, where they initially took the lead before conceding twice to lose 2–1, with Nations captain Razak Simpson netting a brace.

Speaking ahead of Medeama’s upcoming MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash against FC Samartex, Tanko stressed that the team has put the loss behind them while acknowledging their limitations.

“I’ve always said we are not invincible. We have our strengths, and we have our weaknesses. We’ve lost two games now in all, and so we are going to prepare very well to face the upcoming games,” Tanko said.

Despite the recent defeat, the Medeama coach remains confident his side can bounce back and secure victory against Samartex to progress to the quarter-finals of the domestic cup competition.

The Round of 16 encounter is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, with kick-off set for 5:00 pm at the TnA Stadium.
