Ghana Premier League side FC Samartex have announced a two-week suspension and a one-month salary deduction for youth team head coach Eric Bekoe after he was found guilty of misconduct by the club’s disciplinary committee.
The former Ghana international was earlier placed on temporary suspension and invited to appear before the committee following allegations of insubordination and breach of club regulations.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Timber Giants confirmed that Bekoe was found guilty on three out of the four charges levelled against him.
As part of the sanctions, Bekoe will serve a two-week suspension and forfeit one month’s salary, which will be deducted over a two-month period. He has also been directed to sign a bond of good behaviour.
“This is to notify the public that, after appearing before the club’s disciplinary committee, Eric Bekoe was found guilty of 3 out of the 4 charges levelled against him by the club.
Subsequently, the DC has imposed a two-week suspension on Mr Bekoe. Additionally, he is to forfeit one month’s salary, which will be deducted over two months. He shall sign a bond to be of good behaviour,” a statement signed by club chairman Chief Inspector (Rtd) Vincent Bebli read.
The club further urged all employees and its subsidiaries to operate strictly within established rules and to respect the club’s structures and procedures going forward.
