Nyaho-Tamakloe demands major Black Stars overhaul ahead of 2026 World Cup

Former Ghana Football Association chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe believes the Black Stars require a complete reset before heading to the 2026 World Cup.

His call follows Ghana’s failure to reach the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, despite the team finishing their World Cup qualifying campaign with 25 points.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe argues that qualifying alone is not enough, stressing the need for a squad capable of advancing at the global tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“We are going to play at the highest stage of football, and if the country wants to progress, then most of the boys who brought us to where we are today are not good players,” he told Graphic Sports.

He challenged head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff to inject more proven performers into the team. “If there are other experienced footballers, we should look for the best that will take us to the World Cup,” he added.

The Black Stars will know their group-stage path when the draw for the 2026 World Cup is conducted on Friday, November 5.
