Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says the club’s growing effectiveness from set pieces will be vital to sustaining their momentum after Saturday’s hard-fought 1–0 win over Vision FC.
The Phobians sealed victory at the University of Ghana Stadium through a well-executed routine, with Mawuli Wayo heading in the match-winner in the 41st minute. The result halted their brief slip in form and restored confidence in the group.
Dramani, pleased with the execution of the planned move, stressed that set pieces are becoming increasingly decisive in modern football.
In his words:
“Our trump card is also working on the set pieces because the set pieces game has become very fundamental in the modern trends. When the game becomes tight, you can rely on set pieces to open up.”
He added that the team could have converted even more opportunities from dead-ball situations:
“I think we should have scored even more than two from our set-piece play.”
The win lifts Hearts of Oak to fourth place with 21 points as they shift focus to Matchday 13 — a trip to the Aliu Mahama Stadium to face Karela United.
