Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven believes the team’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Copenhagen would have been even better had Mohammed Kudus been on the pitch.

The Ghanaian forward sat out the game with a slight knock, but Van de Ven made it clear that his absence didn’t go unnoticed.

Since joining Spurs in the summer, Kudus has become a key figure under Thomas Frank, impressing with his flair, intelligence, and ability to create moments out of nothing.

His quick feet and positional flexibility have added a new dimension to Tottenham’s attack, having provided five assists this season.

“Mohammed Kudus is an unbelievable player and we missed him in the game against Copenhagen,” the Dutchman told Telecom Asia

“Hopefully he will be fit for us in the weekend against Manchester United. He’s an important player for us and I don’t know the details of his absence, but hopefully he should be back for us.”

Van de Ven, who has been one of the team’s most consistent performers, said the forward’s energy is contagious.

“He gives us something special in attack,” he said. “His movement and energy lift the whole team. You can see the difference when he plays.”

Tottenham now shift focus to their weekend showdown with Manchester United.
