Police Ladies going to Côte d’Ivoire with only one goal – qualification- Yusif Basigi

Police Ladies head coach Yusif Basigi has made his team’s mission clear ahead of the 2025 WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers ; they are going to Côte d’Ivoire to qualify, nothing less.

Drawn in Group B with Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria, Togo’s ASKO and Benin’s Sam Nelly, the Ghana Women’s Premier League champions face a tricky path in Yamoussoukro from August 23 to September 4.

Basigi admits the group is one of the toughest but insists his side will show no complacency.

“We are not underestimating or overestimating anyone because every club earned their place,” he told Graphic Sports.
“But our focus is to take each match as it comes and fight for the ultimate. We are going to Côte d’Ivoire to qualify; that’s the mindset.”

Only the tournament winner will advance to the CAF Women’s Champions League later this year, and Basigi says his champions are determined to seize that ticket.
