Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has rejoined Stade Rennais for pre-season training after an eight-month recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The 24-year-old Black Stars full-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a Ligue 1 match against Lille last season.
Seidu is eager to have an injury-free campaign as he prepares for his third season with the Red and Blacks.
His return is a significant boost for both Stade Rennais and the Black Stars.
Seidu is expected to be fit for Ghana’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers in September, having missed recent games against Chad and Madagascar.
Stade Rennais will kick off the 2025/26 season against Olympique Marseille. Seidu’s comeback is a welcome relief for the club and the national team.
He had been a key player for Stade Rennais, winning consecutive Player of the Month awards at the start of last season. With his experience and skill, Seidu’s return will strengthen the team’s defense.
