Brisbane Roar part ways with forward Asumah Abubakar

Brisbane Roar have confirmed that attacker Asumah Abubakar will not return for the 2025/26 A-League Men season.

Despite being a key player, scoring four goals and registering two assists in 12 appearances, Abubakar has chosen to pursue another opportunity.

The club had offered him an improved multi-year deal, but the forward declined. Brisbane Roar thanked Abubakar for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.

The club acknowledged his impact on the squad during his time there.

Abubakar’s departure allows him to explore new challenges.

The forward previously enjoyed stints at Grasshoppers, Luzern and Lugano.
