Christopher Bonsu Baah eyes 2026 World Cup qualification

Ghana international Christopher Bonsu Baah has shifted his focus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification after the Black Stars’ failure to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana finished bottom of Group F, with three defeats and three draws from six matches.

Despite the setback, Bonsu Baah says the team is determined to qualify for the World Cup to make up for missing the AFCON tournament..

“We want to qualify for the World Cup to appease Ghanaians after missing out on the AFCON 2025. For now, we are focusing on the World Cup qualification,” he told Angel FM.

The Black Stars are currently top of their World Cup qualifying group with 15 points after six matches.

They will face Chad and Mali in September to continue their campaign. Bonsu Baah, who recently earned his maiden national team call-up, has been impressive in the Belgium Pro League, scoring three goals and delivering four assists in 38 matches for Genk last season.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is confident in Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
