Andre Ayew ends Le Havre season as joint-third top scorer

Andre Ayew wrapped up the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season as Le Havre’s joint-third top scorer, following a campaign marked by both personal contributions and a tense relegation battle.

The Ghanaian forward, who joined the French club from Nottingham Forest in October 2024, scored four goals and provided one assist across 27 league appearances.

Despite a difficult start, he played a key role in helping Le Havre secure their top-flight status on the final day of the season.

Ayew’s final goal came in a 4-3 win over Lens in March. He had earlier netted in a 5-1 loss to Marseille in January.

His experience and leadership proved vital throughout the season, with his efforts praised by fans, teammates and club officials.

Ayew’s impact follows a decent first season in France, where he scored five goals in 19 matches for Le Havre during the 2023/24 campaign.

Known for his time at Swansea City and long service to the Ghana national team, Ayew’s performance in Ligue 1 once again underlined his professionalism and resilience.

Le Havre avoided relegation with a dramatic 3-2 win over Strasbourg on the final day, a result that sparked emotional scenes at the Stade Océane, with supporters celebrating Ayew’s role in the club’s survival
