Tariq Lamptey is a doubt for Ghana’s upcoming four-nation tournament in London after picking up a fresh injury at Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old missed Brighton’s final home match of the season against Liverpool, having suffered a knee problem during the previous fixture against Wolves.
It marks another frustrating spell on the sidelines for Lamptey, who had only recently returned from a foot injury.
His fitness concerns come at a time when Ghana are preparing to face Trinidad & Tobago, Nigeria and Jamaica in friendly matches later this month. The Black Stars will assemble in London on 28 May.
Lamptey’s long-term future at Brighton remains uncertain. His contract runs out this summer, and he has fallen behind Joel Veltman in the full-back pecking order.
The former England youth international was linked with a move to Ajax in January, while Everton are also said to be keeping an eye on his situation.
