Atalanta head coach, Gianpiero Gasperini, was thrilled with Ibrahim Sulemana’s performance in their 2-1 Serie A win over AS Roma on Monday night.
Sulemana, who came off the bench eight minutes prior, scored a spectacular 76th-minute goal, securing Atalanta’s UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
Gasperini praised Sulemana’s contribution after the game, while speaking to the media, saying: “He scored a true stunner and I’m really happy for him. Of course, I did [enjoy watching him score the goal].”
“I’m genuinely delighted for him because he’s a top lad with the utmost education and respect,” Gasperini added.
Sulemana has struggled for consistent game time this season, making just eight appearances across all competitions.
However, his impact in crucial moments has been significant. Sulemana’s goal not only sealed the win but also marked a milestone for the Ghanaian player and the club.
Gasperini’s praise underscores Sulemana’s potential and dedication, making him a valuable asset to Atalanta’s squad.
