The Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has hinted that the 2024/25 final might be played on Saturday, June 14, instead of the originally scheduled Sunday, June 15.
“A decision will be taken to have the final on Saturday, June 14 or Sunday, June 15,” Arthur told Onua Sports. “We will meet as a committee and decide and communicate the outcome accordingly,” he added.
The change in schedule is due to the WAFU U-20 Championships, which organizers don’t want to overshadow. However, Arthur believes the finalists, Asante Kotoko and Golden Kick SC, will generate excitement and traction for marketing purposes.
Arthur described the upcoming final as “an interesting match,” noting that Golden Kick SC’s victory over Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko’s rivalry with Hearts will add to the thrill.
“Golden Kick knocked out Hearts of Oak at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and Asante Kotoko are cousins of Hearts and the final will be at that same venue. So, it is going to be a thriller!”
The final will be played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, setting the stage for an exciting encounter between the two teams.
