Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum says the 5-week break in the Ghana Premier League impacted his team’s performance against Legon Cities on Sunday

The break was due to the death of Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, who was stabbed at a Week 19 match.

The Porcupine Warriors returned with a 2-0 win over Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a week 24 fixture with the goals from Patrick Asiedu and Kwame Opoku.

“I think the five week break has not helped us. If you look at the team today, we were not that sharp, we didn’t exhibit that pace and speed in our play.

“We weren’t that sharp in our build up and especially our creativity in front of goal wasn’t that much and the chances we had weren’t the chances we should have missed.

“So to me it has had an effect on the team but then as we play some few matches I am sure we will come back.”

Kotoko are now on top of the league table with 37 points .
