Midfielder Mawule Wayo’s late brace secured a 3-2 win for Hearts of Oak over Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League.

Hussein Mohammed opened the scoring in the 37th minute, giving the Phobians a first-half advantage at the Sogakope WAFA Park.

Striker Nwafor Lucky equalized for Accra Lions in the 52nd minute, and Ezekiel Alladoh doubled their lead shortly after, putting the hosts ahead on Sunday afternoon.

Substitute Mawule Wayo, who replaced Saani Mohammed in the 79th minute, turned the game around.

He scored just two minutes after coming on and completed his brace in the 84th minute to seal victory for the visitors.

Accra Lions have now dropped into the relegation zone with only 13 points after 15 games and will face Dreams FC in their next fixture.

The “Never Say Die” lads have moved up to 6th place with 25 points and will host Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Stadium in their next match.
