Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has described his winning goal against Hearts of Oak as an early Christmas gift to the club’s supporters.
Amoah’s late strike in the 95th minute secured a 1-0 victory for the Porcupine Warriors on matchday 13 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The winning goal resulted from a mix-up between Hearts of Oak’s Kelvin Osei Asibey and Benjamin Asare, which Amoah capitalized on to send the Baba Yara Stadium into a frenzy.
Speaking to SuperSport Blitz after the game, Amoah expressed his excitement after netting his seventh league goal of the campaign.
“I feel very excited and I am very happy to be here. I love my fans so much,” the forward said.
“[For] all the supporters who came here, this [goal] is for the Christmas. They should take it and enjoy themselves.”
Following the crucial win, Kotoko sit in 5th position with 21 points and face Dreams FC in their next league game.
