Hearts of Oak had a chance to equalize when referee Selorm Yao Bless awarded them a penalty, but goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi made a critical save to keep Gold Stars’ lead intact.
Gold Stars now lead the table with 18 points after eight games and will face Dreams FC at Duns Park in Bibiani next week.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, have dropped to 12th place with nine points and will travel to Tarkwa to take on Medeama SC in their next match.
