Newly promoted Basake Holy Stars held Asante Kotoko SC to a 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League encounter.
The Porcupine Warriors dominated the first half with several scoring opportunities, and Albert Amoah found the back of the net ten minutes before halftime, giving Kotoko the advantage.
The 2021/22 champions continued to press early in the second half, with Emmanuel Antwi coming close to doubling the lead, but Holy Stars’ goalkeeper Dubi Tayi Kassi made a crucial save to keep his team in the game.
The hosts fought back, and Prince Tweneboah finally scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute, securing a point for Holy Stars at the Cosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park on Sunday.
Holy Stars now sit 14th in the league standings with eight points and will travel to Berekum to face Chelsea in their next match.
