Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed disappointment over the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to suspend the Baba Yara Sports Stadium from hosting international matches.
The ban follows criticism of the stadium’s pitch for its poor condition during Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola.
The Black Stars are set to face Sudan in a crucial doubleheader in October.
Speaking at the CAF Coaches Symposium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Addo said: “It’s really a pity. We always love to play in front of our home crowd, but we must make the best of this situation. If we have to play somewhere else, then so be it.,” he told Sports Journalist Micky Jnr.
“I don’t want to expend too much energy on this because it’s out of our hands—CAF has made the decision.”
The Sports Ministry, though, have asked the Ghana FA to seek CAF’s approval for Accra and Legon Stadiums.
