Hearts of Oak defeated Heart of Lions 8-7 on penalties to lift the Homowo Charity Cup after regulation time ended 1-1.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored in the first half, giving the Lions advantage before newly signed forward Hussein Mohammed equalised in the injury time for the Phobians.

Hussein’s goal extended the game to penalties shootout which goalkeeper Benjamin Asare saved Bismark Anim kick and scored the last take to secure victory for the Phobians at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak will be aiming to compete for the upcoming Ghana Premier League league title which behind on September 6.
