Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Hasaacas Ladies, began their WAFU B tournament with a 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso’s Omnisports Etincelle on Sunday at the Stade de la Paix de Bouake.
Hasaacas found themselves under pressure for most of the opening 60 minutes, with goalkeeper Grace Banwaa making two crucial saves to deny the hosts from taking the lead.
The introduction of midfielder Fidous Yakaubu in the second half sparked a change in momentum for Hasaacas, but their efforts failed to yield any clear-cut chances.
Their next encounter is against Nigeria’s Edo Queens in their second group game.
