“The future is bright”- C.K Akonnor on Black Stars direction under Otto Addo

Former Ghana International and coach, Charles Kwablar Akonnor, has insisted that the new-look Black Stars setup has a bright future, despite the prevalence of gloominess in past years.

C.K remarked to Citi sports in an exclusive interview, taking into consideration the exciting times ahead and looking past the years of peril.

“What he has done so far, in the last two matches, I think its very hopeful. It looks like the future is bright. We need to support him, of course. Whatever he believes is right, we need to support him to do it, he said.”

The Black Stars managed to win-back-to-back games in June’s International’s — the first time since the pre-World Cup friendly games against Nicaragua and Switzerland, when Otto Addo managed the side in his first stint.

Ghana’s apparent turn in form has boosted the confidence and hopes of the natives of the country, who are relishing at the prospect of supporting the team at the next World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Black Stars take on Chad and Madagascar in March 2025, where the next series of Fifa World qualifiers is slated to take place.
