Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan says striker Mahatma Otoo ought to be named the Player of the season.
The 21-year-old hit a sensational hat trick on the final day of the season against Tema Youth to finish top scorer of the Ghanaian top flight with 20 goals.
Duncan who is also being talked of as a potential coach of the season following his second-round heroics with the Phobians believes his lead striker is miles ahead any other competitor in the race for the Player of the Season award.
“His performance this season has just been phenomenal,†he said.
“I struggle to find the words to describe his season.
“Hearts scored the highest number of goals in the season – 46 and he scored 20 0f them. Up until yesterday none of his goals were through a penalty kick.
“It’s just amazing and I will be surprised, in fact shocked if he is not awarded the player of the season because clearly, he is miles ahead of his peers.â€
Otoo’s impressive form this season has alerted several oversees club of his immense potential.
Hearts are however determined to hold onto the yet-to-be-capped Ghana international for at least one more season.
