Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has expressed his opinion that it’s time to reevaluate the composition of the Black Stars, suggesting that a few players have outlived their utility and should be replaced by emerging talents.

In his words, he stated, “Few Black Stars players, in my opinion, have exceeded their usefulness. I think we should replace those guys because from what I’ve seen roughly two or three, they don’t measure up to par.”

Furthermore, the Member of Parliament for Suame constituency pointed out that the national team’s coach has a wealth of up-and-coming stars at his disposal, making it feasible to make replacements with promising new talents.

Ghana is gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with matches against Madagascar and Comoros on the horizon in the November international break.

The Black Stars will then look to end a 41-year trophy drought at the Africa Cup of Nation in Côte d’Ivoire in January.
