Substitute Gifty Assifuah’s second half brace helped the Black Queens secure an empathetic win against Benin in the first leg of the 2024 Paris Olympics games qualifier on Friday at Cotonou.
Striker Doris Boaduwaa scored from a spot kick to put Ghana ahead in the first half before Gifty came off the bench to hit a brace which sealed the victory.
The win aided Nora Hauptle extend her unbeaten run to eight games as the trainer of the Ghana’s women’s national team, scoring 29 goals, and conceding none.
The Black Queens will return to Ghana and prepare for the second leg on Tuesday in Accra.
