Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu has revealed how he funded the purchase of Ghana Premier League side, Karela United.
The politician became the owner of Karela after completing the takeover for an undisclosed fee.
The Member of Parliament said the transfer fee from Fatawu Issahaku’s transfer to Sporting CP was used to acquire the Ayinase-based club.
“It was more an accidental decision. It was not my wish,” He told TV3.
“A very good friend of mine called and said, ‘Haruna, can you help? I want you to show interest in Karela.
“It was desirably arisen out of the sale Fatawu Issahaku that we used it to do Karela and probably to run Steadfast along the line.”
Karela have won one match after week four of the Ghana Premier League.
