Former Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has been disqualified from the upcoming GFA Presidential Election by the Vetting Committee.
The Committee cited that Afriyie’s application was unsuccessful due to his breach of “Article 13(2)(j) of the Ghana Football Association statutes, 2019,” as well as his “failure to provide the required number of Ghana Football Association members to support your candidature.”
George Afriyie has three days to appeal the decisions of the Elections Committee before the GFA Appeals Committee.
The Elective Congress is set to take place on September 27 at the Redaach Memorial Hotel in Tamale.
