With 2022 behind us, it’s time to check out the most valuable football players in 2023. All of the top five are valued at €110m or higher, with the most valuable player priced at a whopping €180m.
Market values have shifted over the past 12 months, with club competitions and the World Cup having an impact on players’ estimated prices. So, who are the most valuable players in world football right now?

5. Phil Foden – Manchester City (€110m)
Over the past few years, Phil Foden has become a key player for both Manchester City and England. At just 22, the exciting forward has already won four Premier League titles – along with a host of other trophies.
Foden is closing in on 200 appearances for Man City, with 53 goals and 36 assists coming in 192 outings for the club. If he continues to perform at his current level, his market value will only rise.
4. Jude Bellingham – Borussia Dortmund (€110m)
Like Foden, Jude Bellingham is valued at €110m. The English teenager is widely regarded as one of the hottest young talents in the game, having already racked up a century of appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
Viewed as a genuine box-to-box midfielder, Bellingham enhanced his status with a series of standout performances at the 2022 World Cup. In fact, his displays in Qatar added another €10m onto his market value.
3. Vinícius Júnior – Real Madrid (€120m)
Vinícius Júnior was valued at €50 million back in October 2021. Fast-forward to today – the Real Madrid winger boasts a market value of €120m after establishing himself as one of the best players on the planet.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal breakout campaign in 2021/22, bagging 22 goals and 20 assists in 52 appearances for Los Blancos. This season, he has added ten goals and five assists to his every-growing tally.
2. Erling Haaland – Manchester City (€170m)
What can we say about Erling Haaland that hasn’t already been said? At just 22, the lethal Norwegian striker has scored 162 goals in 203 club games – as well as 21 goals in 23 outings for his country.
After netting 86 goals in 89 appearances for Dortmund, Haaland has chalked up 27 goals across his first 21 games for Man City and is destined to clinch the Premier League Golden Boot. No wonder he is valued at €170m!
1. Kylian Mbappé – Paris Saint-Germain (€180m)
It’s official – Kylian Mbappé is the most valuable football player in 2023. Priced at €180m, the 24-year-old has bagged 191 goals and 93 assists in 239 games for PSG – firing the club to four Ligue 1 titles in the process.
Back in December, Mbappé enhanced his reputation with a hat-trick against Argentina in the World Cup final. Although France lost on penalties, Mbappé will always be remembered for his remarkable individual performance.
