Morocco to host Club World Cup in February 2023

Morocco was chosen by FIFA on Friday with the hosting rights for the next Club World Cup in February, 2023.

The seven-team competition will take place from February 1-11, and will feature European champions Real Madrid, the South American victors Flamengo, and Seattle Sounders, winners of CONCACAF Champions League.

The 10-day competition, which includes continental champions from each of the six soccer confederations in the world, will be played in Casablanca.

Morocco has already hosted two Club World Cups, which were won by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, respectively, in 2013 and 2014.

The Arabian land had an incredible journey at the ongoing World Cup after qualifying to the semis of a global showpiece – the first Arab and African nation to achieve that. They can go a step further with a victory against Morocco in the third-place playoffs on Saturday.
