Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Ex-Brighton & Hove gaffer Chris Hughton are among the list of candidates vying to be the new head coach of the Black Stars, Kickoffghana can exclusively report.
The role became vacant after Otto Addo’s decision to step down following the expiration of his contract after leading the country at the 2022 World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association has since shortlisted six-coaches from the numerous applications received.
Tuchel is a big name when it comes to coaching in world football. The 49 year old tactician is back in Germany after being sacked by English side Chelsea despite guiding the side to clinch the UEFA Champions League in 2021.
Chris Hughton is also a manger with vast experience having worked with several clubs in the English top flight division. He has been backed by many to replace Otto Addo after serving as Technical Advisor to the Black Stars over the last nine months.
The list also includes names like Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng, Serbian national team manager Dragan Stojkovic, Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet, Portuguese coach Paulo Bento, who was in charge of South Korea at the World Cup.
