UD Las Palmas vs CD Tenerife – 26/11/2022

Las Palmas to win the Canary Islands derby against Tenerife

706

On Saturday night, Las Palmas hosts Tenerife in a Canary Islands derby that could be pivotal in the race for promotion from the Segunda to La Liga.

The home team has enjoyed a decent campaign in the Spanish second tier, as they are currently in third place in the table, two points adrift of the automatic promotion spots and three off the top of the standings.

Despite their lofty position in the table, Las Palmas have failed to win in their last four matches in the Segunda. Back-to-back draws against Levante and Eibar followed defeats against Huesca and Burgos.

The home side’s recent league outings have been low-scoring, as their previous eight matches in the Segunda have produced under 2.5 goals.

Las Palmas’ home form has been slightly inconsistent of late, but they have won just one of their previous four league outings on home soil.

Like their recent league matches in general, the islander’s latest home games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last eight league matches.

The visitors are enjoying a mixed campaign, as they are five points adrift of the play-off spots but also just four points clear of the relegation zone. Luis Miguel Ramis’ team has recorded back-to-back league victories over Burgos and Huesca without conceding a goal.

However, Tenerife had suffered three straight defeats against Leganes, Real Zaragoza and Mirandes before the double victory.

Tenerife have struggled on their travels in the Spanish second tier, winning just one of their last nine away games in the Segunda.

A 1-0 win at Burgos last time out ended an eight-game winless streak away from home for the visitors.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Las Palmas will boost their chances of a return to the top-two by recording a victory in a low-scoring encounter.
