Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is confident an African side will reach the semi-finals in the ongoing 2022 World Cup.
No side from the continent has ever made it past the quarter-finals, with Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and most recently Ghana (2010) knocked out in the last eight – all after extra time or penalties.
Ghana are joined by Senegal, Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia asAfrican representatives in Qatar.
“If possible. We have some good teams like Ghana, Morocco and Tunisia representing the continent, not to mention Senegal who won the last Africa Cup with great strength and fantastic individualities. Africa has a chance to carve out a place in the semi-finals this time,” Otto Addo told AS ahead of Ghana’s opening game against Portugal in Group H.
