Hearts of Oak head coach Slavko Matic was left disappointed by his team’s defense following a 2-2 draw with Dreams FC on Matchday 8 of the betPawa Premier League on Sunday.
The Phobians had to comeback from two goals down to pick a late point at the Accra Sports Stadium.
David William Van Dijk broke the deadlock early in the game Dede worked his way through the Hearts of Oak backline before laying a pass to Van Dijk to tap home. The Still Believe lads doubled their lead three minutes after the break as he headed home a rebound from a corner kick.
Hearts of Oak reduced the deficit in the 75th minute when Collins Boah scored an own goal after miskicking an attempt over the head of goalkeeper Lord Bawa Martey.
Benjamin Yorke scored the equalizer for Hearts of Oak in added time after coming on a substitute for Rashid Okine in the 80th minute.
The result takes Accra Hearts of Oak to the 5th spot with 13 points – one points behind rivals Asante Kotoko and three adrift of leaders Aduana FC.
“The way and how we played, when you see result of 2-0, you just don’t believe, very cheap two goals.
“We cannot give opportunity to opponents like this, two half chances and they scored two goals without a chance but team spirit again was good.
“I said before the game, I will give opportunity to all players, young players played today and now we see, we miss experience.
“But in the end, I can say I must be satisfied when we scored the second goal in the last five minutes but want more.” Slavko Matic told StarTimes.
